Writing it became a way to process pain, honor survival, and give shape to the silence that so many of us carry. Richard White

Richard White is an author, former EMS lieutenant, and U.S. Army veteran whose writing explores trauma, resilience, and the quiet moments that follow life’s most chaotic events.

Drawing from years spent in emergency medicine, his work reflects the emotional and psychological aftermath often carried by first responders long after the sirens fade. His memoir, The Quiet After the Sirens, offers an unflinching look at the realities of life in EMS and the long road toward healing.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing with a concentration in fiction and a minor in professional writing from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Alongside his nonfiction work, he also writes fiction exploring themes of human endurance, morality, and the unseen battles people fight every day.

He lives in Amsterdam, New York with his wife, Rosalynne, where he continues to write, publish through Whispers in the Dark Press, and advocate for mental health awareness among first responders and veterans.
